Joseph Decker Brock

Joseph Decker Brock, age 93, New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, June 21, 2021, at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater. Born in Rome, Georgia to Macon and Florence Brock, Joe was a lifelong visitor to New Smyrna Beach and permanently relocated to the area with his wife, Martha, in 1999.

After graduation from Rome High School, Mr. Brock attended University of Georgia and was a brother at Sigma Nu Fraternity. In 1947, he met the love of his life, Martha Lee of College Park, GA, and they were married in 1948. Mr. Brock later served in the Marine Corps Reserves. He owned and operated the Brock Company Corporation, an industrial supplier to the soft drink industry, which was based in Atlanta. Mr. Brock was a long-standing member of Sugar Mill Country Club and founded the HI-Flyers, a Gentleman’s golf group. He loved people, the beach, sailing, big band music, the occasional Martini, and New Smyrna Beach. Most of all, Mr. Brock loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Survivors include one daughter, Ginger (Arnold) Kelly, of St. Louis, MO; two sons, Joe (Terri) Brock, Jr., of New Smyrna Beach and John (Sarah) Brock, of Atlanta, GA; two granddaughters, Katie (Jeff) Gardner and Christie (Evan) Miga, all of Orlando; four grandsons, Andrew (Julie) Kuenneke, of St. Louis, MO, Ryan (Andrea) Kuenneke, of St. Petersburg, FL, Scott Kuenneke, of Jefferson City, MO, Joseph (Elizabeth) Brock, of Atlanta, GA; three great grandsons, Mason and Ethan Kuenneke and Dash Green; and brother, Eddie Brock, of Rome, GA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Martha Brock.

Funeral Service will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens with the Reverend James Spencer, St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, 4140 South Ridgewood Ave. Edgewater, FL 32141.
