June Hingson, age 93, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her residence. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John C. and Martha I. Jackson Parker, June came to the area in 1945 from Winter Haven.
She was a member of Beachside Baptist Church and the ABWA - American Business Womens Association. June enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and walking. She was the first single woman in Volusia County to be licensed as a foster mother, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister. June truly enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa (Christopher) Pilling Noe, of Edgewater; grandson,
Robert Pilling Jr., of Edgewater; granddaughters, Deanna June Newberry and Bonnie Pilling, both of Edgewater; great grandchildren, Nathan, Lucas, Juliana, Matthew, Robbie, Parker; nieces, Patricia (Charlie) Bales and June (Arthur) Litowitz. June was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sara O. Bencivenga; brother, Bob Hediger; and great grandson, John Stahlman Jr.; nephew, Alan F. Bencivenga and son in law Robert Pilling Sr.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Donald Shobert, officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
