Kimball Ryan Niemisto, age 27, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Flint, Michigan to James Todd Niemisto and Victoria Camper, Kimball spent his first years in Flint, Michigan until he moved to Volusia County, FL where he went to school most of his childhood and spent most of his summers in Michigan. He moved to Las Vegas three years ago in July of 2020, but did call New Smyrna Beach, FL his home in the summer of 2022.
Kimball loved streetcar racing, skateboarding, and fishing. He possessed a connectedness to nature and an affinity to animals. He was a sweet compassionate person that could light up a room. His smile will never be forgotten. He adored his younger brothers and sisters and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. He made an impact on everyone who met him and many who never will.
Survivors include his father, James Todd (Alanna) Niemisto, of Wisconsin; mother, Victoria Camper (Michael Sword), of New Smyrna Beach; daughter, Scarlett Niemisto, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two brothers, Noah Niemisto, of Marinette, Wisconsin and Edward Ertel, of New Smyrna Beach; two sisters, Piper Niemisto, of Marinette, Wisconsin, and Rayna Ertel, of New Smyrna Beach; maternal grandmother, Laura Heron, of Flint, Michigan; maternal grandfather, William (Nancy) Minhinnick, of Algonac, Michigan; paternal grandparents, Virginia and Phillip Wright, of DeLand; three Uncles Christopher (Luciana) Wright of Viera, Florida, Phillip (Ashley) Wright of Cape Coral Florida, Joshua (Cady Romesburg) Mechura of Flint Michigan; one aunt Ashley (Ryan Marshall) Mechura of Flint, Michigan. Kimball always held a special place in his heart for and will be dearly missed by Scarlett’s mother Molly Anderson of Fredericksburg, Virgina. He was a beloved son, father, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Kimball Niemisto will remain the brightest star in our lives. Kimball was an incredibly sweet young man that died too soon at 27 on the 27th.
The memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with Michael Sword and Ashley Mechura officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home. Flowers can be accepted at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
