Leon C. Robitzsch Jr., age 88, of Edgewater, left his earthly home to live in heaven, August 31, 2024. Leon was born in Ben Hill County, Georgia, November 9, 1935 to Elvie Sellars and Leon C. Robitzsch Sr. He came to New Smyrna Beach in 1948 from Georgia with his family.
Leon and his wife Frances established Leon's Edgewater Motors in 1978 as a gas station and automotive repair shop. They owned a successful family business for 44 years. Family was a big part of Leon's daily life, working side by side with his sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After retiring from daily operations at the shop, Leon still enjoyed running errands and greeting customers.
Leon enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, yard work, telling stories and being a member of the Edgewater Rotary Club.
Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Frances; sons, Mark, Brent, Grant and their wives; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was greeted in Heaven by his son Craig and grandsons Evan and Mack.
