Lillian "Sandy" Ruth Sweat

Lillian “Sandy” Ruth Sweat, age 94, died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Timberlane Lodge ALF, New Smyrna Beach.  Born in Tifton, Georgia to Amos Dewey and Lilly Mae Cook Spradley, Sandy came to the area in 1928.

She and her late husband, Dana built and owned the first dry storage marina at the end of Canal Street, selling the business in 1977. Sandy enjoyed, ice cream, babies, taking pictures and spending time with her family. She was a member of the New Smyrna Beach Historical Society, and the Pilot Club. Sandy will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors included her two sons, Gary, of Georgia and Mark, of Lake Wales; 5 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Dana W.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Bruce Sweat, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.
