Linda “Leather” Saliga of New Smyrna Beach, FL died July 31, 2024 at the age of 75.
Linda was born in Upper Darby, PA to Thomas and Alice Largent.
Early in her youth, her love for adventure began. She spent many weekends and summers at the Poconos, Delaware River residence, learning to hunt, fish and boat, and became an excellent water skier. This is also where she learned to ride and her love for motorcycles began.
She graduated high school from Blue Mountain Academy where she developed her sewing skills.
She also attended West Chester University.
While raising her children in Wilmington, DE, she started her own business- Tucker’s Upholstery and Drapes. She reupholstered countless antiques for estates in the region. Taking her children along and finding many of the pieces for customers @ auctions and flea markets. They also spent countless weekends in Chestertown, MD with her parents @ auctions and garage sales, searching for specials finds. She would spend many of her summers at her parents place in Maryland with her children, passing her love of fishing, crabbing, and sking to her children.
In 1989, she moved her children and business to Florida and transitioned her specialty to leather design and giving her new business name as “Leather’s Designs“. It is here, where she designed and customized many items for the biker community throughout the United States.
She married Stan Saliga on November 20, 1994, settling in New Smyrna Beach. Staying very active in leather design and aircraft refurbishment. She also stayed busy with gardening, landscaping and selling many of her propagated plants. She actively participated in many biker activities and fundraisers and was a Lifetime Member of the VFW Auxiliary-Post 4250, known as “The Little V”.
She is survived by her husband, Stan. Her children, Jennifer (Paul), and Ryan (Donna). Her grandchildren, Christian, Lane, Coby, Charisty and Joshua. Her great grandchildren, Ariellea-May, Cayden, Scarlett, Greyson, Kingston, Caroline, and Logan. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Smith, a niece, nephews and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
