Lois Hurd Maman, age 94, of Edgewater, died Monday, December 9, 2024 at NSB ALF.
She was born July 13, 1930 in Bainbridge, Ohio to Howard and Rose Hurd. 

Lois taught typing and business classes at New Smyrna Beach Senior High School for 31 years. One of the clubs she particularly enjoyed sponsoring was the Brain Bowl.  After retirement, she went back to college and studied nursing.  While she loved all animals-and gave a home to a line of great rescue dogs-Lois had a passion for riding and training horses. Lois enjoyed traveling and camping. She was an avid reader.

Survivors include two daughters, Vivian (Steve) Rhoades, and Patty (Chris) Gough; a son, Pete (Misty) Maman Jr and daughter in law Vikki Maman; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Corey, Whitney, Jessica, Hunter, Tayler, Mary Lindsay, Ian, Ben, Chase, CJ and Tyler; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.  Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete Maman Sr.; son, David; and 3 sisters, Paula, Reddy and Dottie.

Services will be held in Ohio at a later date.
