Hennigan-Canavan, Loretta (Lolly), 83, passed into eternity on July 24, 2022, at her home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. A native of Brooklyn, NY, she relocated to Miami in 1967 where she worked at Tropical Elementary until her retirement. Although she had only five children of her own, she was “Mom” to many others. She was loved by all for her kind and generous heart, sense of humor, positive attitude and incredible memory for details.
She is predeceased by her husband, Vincent Canavan, and her brother Jack (Johnny Boy) Hennigan.
Lolly leaves behind sisters Mary Moran, Jane Hennigan, Margaret Napolitano, brother Thomas (Mary) Hennigan, and Jack’s wife, Christine, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Children, Glenn (Karla) Canavan of Cutler Bay, FL, Allyson (Andrew) Gill of Gainesville, FL, Vincent (Jeannie) Canavan, of Homestead, FL, Jennifer (Peter) Freshour of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Stephen (Helen) Canavan of Kendall, FL.
Grandchildren Glenn, Amy, Leah, Caitlin, Savannah, Justin, Jake, Zoe, Valerie, and Kevin, and great-grandchildren Chanelle and Zaden.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on August 12, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 998 Father Donlon Dr, New Smyrna Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org or Wounded Warrior Project http://woundedwarriorproject.org/
