Marie Biggs

Born December 23, 1935 and entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at her residence.

 

Marie was born in Backus Mountain, West Virginia. 

 

She moved to Florida with her husband, Mack, and seven children in 1971. 

 

Marie was a member of the Assembly of God Church since 1972. The past 15 years attended Friendship Community Church where she served as the beloved greeter welcoming all who entered.

 

Everyone loved to come and see her, she always ready with a hug. Her favorite thing was shopping at Walmart but mainly she would go there to pray for those that needed prayer and encouragement. Anyone that came in contact with her felt the love that poured from her heart.

 

In addition to raising her children, Marie helped her husband run their Masonry business. She also worked as a housekeeper at hotels and as waitress at Littles Drug Store.

 

Marie loved her children and was lovingly know to the grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Granny Bug”.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Mack Biggs and sons, Virgil and Tony. She is survived by her children, Billy, Vicky (Darrell), Elvis (Georganna), Sissy (Russ), Bonnie (Kenton) ,Pam, Teresea (Buzz), Karen (Brian), two sisters Glenna (Jim) Dunbar, Juanita McGinnis, sister-in-law Judy Lynch, many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a large extended family. 

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21 at Friendship Community Church, 2108 Hibiscus Drive, Edgewater, with the Reverend Tim McCardel officiating. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 20 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
