Martin Olszowka, age 74, of Edgewater, died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at AdventHealth New Smyrna surrounded by his family. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Ernest Martin and Helen Body Olszowka, Martin came to the area in 2002 from Miami.
A United States Navy Vietnam veteran, he was a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. Martin was a Catholic and loved being with his family and was a very devoted family man. He loved fishing and his fishing trips with the guys. An avid dart player, Martin was also the friendly smile, for many years, working at Publix, Edgewater.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Linda; 2 daughters, Jackie (Scott) Kennedy and JoAnne (Nate) Sullivan; 2 grandchildren, Shane DeLong, II and Zachary Martin DeLong; and father in law Art “Grampy” Hobbs, all of Edgewater.
Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 7:00 p.m. until the time of the service, Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims.
