Marvin Andrew Brooks

Marvin Andrew Brooks, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, Florida. Marvin was born in Anderson, South Carolina, to Virginia Faye Brooks and Grady Andrew Brooks.

A devoted husband, brother, and father, Marvin was known for his gentle nature and uplifting spirit to all who knew him. He was married to Linda Faye Brooks for 52 years, and together they shared a life rooted in love, commitment, and family until her passing in 2022.

Marvin worked for many years as a skilled auto mechanic, taking pride in his craft and helping others with a patience that never wavered. He also found joy in amateur stock car racing, a pastime that reflected both his love of cars and his fandom of NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his loving son, Eric Brooks, and his two brothers, Steve Brooks and Harry Brooks. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, and his parents.

Marvin will be remembered for the kindness in his heart, the grease on his hands, and the gentle way he moved through the world. His memory lives on in every story shared and every life he touched.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 12 pm at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Marvin’s life.
