Mary J. Golden

Mary J. (nee Froehlich) Golden, beloved wife of the late Edward H. Grueter, Bill Porten and Bob Golden, cherished mother of Kathy (the late Walt) Nuckols, Susan (David) Bunten, Edward (Carol) Grueter, Jr., David (Susan) Grueter, Stephen (Vanessa) Grueter, Jerry (Kathy) Grueter and Jane (Mark) Gossett. She was the devoted grandmother of 23 and great-grandmother of 40. 

 

Mary passed away in her home on Saturday, January 9th at the age of 94. She and her late husband moved to Edgewater in 1981, residing at 7 Silver Circle; then moved back to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2017 to be with her children. Mary was very active at her parish, St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, was one of the initial members of the parish and was a Sacristan for many years. She was an active bridge player at the New Smyrna Beach Senior Center and active at the New Smyrna Beach Elks Club.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Cure Sanfilippo Foundation at Curesanfillipofoundation.org to help Abigail Means, Mary’s great granddaughter. 

 

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at  Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, next to her first husband, Edward H Grueter.
