Melbourne "Skip" Wargo Obituary

Melbourne “Skip” Wargo, age 78, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, June 17, 2022 at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. Born in Lorain, Ohio to Ada Mae Hohl and Melbourne Frank Wargo Sr., Skip came to the area in 1986 from Amherst, Ohio.
 
A United States Army veteran, he was a sheet metal worker with the Sheet Metal Workers Union. Skip was raised a Methodist, was a member of the American Legion Post #17, and the Gold Wing Road Riders. He enjoyed reading, swimming, motorcycles and was an avid golfer. Skip was a devoted husband, loving father, a proud grandfather and a good friend to many.
 
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara; daughter, Melissa (Brandy) Wargo, of Edgewater, FL; sons, Michael (Stephanie) Wargo, of Dunnellon, FL, and Steven Wargo, of Alachua, FL; six grandsons, Jarett Wargo, Zachary Wargo, Austin Lanseer, Logan Wargo, Hunter Lanseer and Ryan Wargo. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Skip was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.
 
Friends will be received on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL with Pastor James Harris, Calvary Christian Center, officiating.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Legion Post #17, 619 Canal Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.
