Melvin Eugene Moore

Melvin Eugene Moore, age 73, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at his residence. Born in Asheville, North Carolina to James Daniel and Annie Mae House Moore, Melvin came to the area in 1954 from North Carolina. 

Melvin was a National Guard veteran and enjoyed farming, ranching and hay bailing. He was a member of the Volusia County Cattleman's Association and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dianne; son, David Moore, of Osteen; daughter, Amanda Moore, of Eustis; grandsons, David Moore, of Osteen, and Brenden Roach, of Eustis; granddaughter, McKenzie Moore, of Osteen; brother, Danny Moore, of Edgewater; and sister, Jean Tumblin, of New Smyrna Beach.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with the Pastor Nathan Rodriquez, Lighthouse Worship Center, New Smyrna Beach, officiating. Burial will be at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery following the service. Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
