Obituary
Mildred Anna Clarke, age 103, of Merritt Island, died Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Solaris Healthcare, Merritt Island. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Richard John Edmund and Ella Pamela Thomson Thiele, Mildred came to the area in October, 1979 from Wiltshire, England, U.K.
She was an accountant for 26 years with American Airline, Inc. Mildred was a member of A.A.R.P. National and Local, New Smyrna Beach and the A.A.R.P. Craft Group, New Smyrna Beach, where she enjoyed doing crafts. Mildred was a member of Fresh Start Widow & Widowers Club, New Smyrna Beach, the Seaside Stroker’s Club, and the Women’s Club in New Smyrna Beach. She loved to travel with the Port Orange Recreational Travel Club and the Monarch Travel Club, New Smyrna Beach. Mildred enjoyed exercising and was involved with Children’s Head Start.
Survivors include her niece, Deborah (Richard) Flerra; grand nephews, Alexander Flerra and David Flerra and her niece, Pamela (John) Kingsley; grand nephew, Sean Kingsley; grand niece, Kirstin Kingsley; cousins, Doris Bambach; Harold Wilson, and Joan Landahl. Mildred was preceded in death by her cousin, Yvonne Blass and sister, Ruth Relyea.
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with Dr. Gordon Meier, officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Alzheimer’s Association, 3323 W. Commercial Blvd. Suite 260 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
