Mitchell A. Sanford

Mitchell A. Sanford, age 33, of Oak Hill, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 at AdventHealth New Smyrna. Born in Rappahannock, Virginia to Tammy Swartout and Gary L. Sanford Jr., Mitchell came to the area in 1992 from Gloucester, Virginia.

A United States Army combat engineer, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach. Mitchell enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a devoted father, son, grandson, and brother. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his four children,  Emma,  Landon, Sadie, and Cole Sanford; father, Gary Sanford, of Edgewater; mother, Tammy Sanford, of Oak Hill; grandmother, Debbie Manypenny, of Gloucester, Virginia; grandmother, Sandy Sanford, of Edgewater; sister, Brittney Sanford, of Oak Hill; three brothers, Ryan Sanford, of Oak Hill; Jeremy Sanford, of Oak Hill; and Cody (Mandy) Sanford, of Middleburg, Ohio. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims.
