Nettie Jane Kennard Secrest Obituary
Nettie Jane Kennard Secrest was embraced by God, May 6, 2021, while at home surrounded by her loving daughters.
Nettie was born in Okeechobee, Florida, July 8, 1936, to Fred and Lela (Davis) Kennard. She was a sister to brothers: Joe, James, Marlyn, William and sisters Audrey, Martha, Linda and Mary who all preceded her in death.
She graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in 1954. After graduation she moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she met the love of her life, Cecil A. Secrest. The two were married May 26, 1956.
They have five daughters; Pam (David) Lynn, Karen (Rick) Ring, Kim Berridge (deceased), Penny Secrest, Katrina (Drew) Krug.
She was a loving grandmother to 12, and great grandmother to 24. She will be extremely missed by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Edgewater United Methodist Church, with Pastor Donna Blythe, officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
