Patrick "Pat" Barnes

Patrick R. Barnes, age 72, formerly of Long Beach, CA and permanent resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away in the early morning hours of March 3, 2021.

 

Pat served his country in the United States Navy where he became an airplane mechanic and later became a professional corporate pilot as well as a test pilot for Aerostar.  He said, “I’ve never worked a day in my life” because he had such a great love of flying. He also loved his Volkwagons, surfing, golfing and reading.

 

He is survived by the love of his life, Amy MacMurdo and her three children who loved him as a father, Rachel, Logan and Jake and four beautiful grandchildren. Pat is also survived by his loving sister Penny Bilheimer, and long time friend Myles Folger.

 

Pat had a very quirky sense of humor and loved his many friends, particularly his golf buddies. He will be loved and missed by all. As per his wishes there will be no service but if you would like to donate in his name, please support your local Humane Society as Pat had a love special of animals.
