Paul A. Colborn

Paul A. Colborn, age 69, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Oceanview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, New Smyrna Beach.  Born in Pontiac, Michigan to Joyce Madeline Hummel and Victor David Colborn, Jr., Paul was a lifelong resident and raised Baptist.

In high school, Paul played trumpet as first chair. A pitcher for the UCF baseball team, he graduated in 1972 with Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, and served in the United States Marine Corp. He worked for Seminole and Volusia County Property Appraisers Office for many years.  Paul enjoyed the beach, body surfing, camping on the Wekiva, and spent many hours caring for their yard.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Helaine; sister, Dawn (Greg) Bretz of Altamonte Springs, Florida; 2 brothers, Philip Willett of Bonifay, Florida and Timothy (Carol) Willett of Edgewater, Florida.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents David and Joyce Colborn and brothers, Gary and David Willett.

Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10th at Settle-Wilder Chapel in New Smyrna Beach.  Refreshments will be served immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
