Phillip Mark Adams, age 72, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, June 27, 2024 at AdventHealth New Smyrna. Born in Valdosta, Georgia to Claude L. and Ruth Wright Adams, Phillip came to the area in 1991 from his place of birth.
He worked at Volusia County Schools in the Maintenance Department. Phillip was a member of Mims Church of God, and he worked with Giddeons Ministry. Phillip enjoyed speaking the word of God, and ministering to people's needs. He was a big fan of Jesus and always wore the baseball cap with Jesus on it. Phillip was a devoted husband, loving father, and loved his grandchildren dearly.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Donna; two sons, Jay (Stephanie) Adams, of Thorton, Colorado, and Joshua Adams, of Jacksonville; three grandsons, Nathan Adams, Landen Adams, and Declan Adams, all of Thorton, Colorado; granddaughter, Haydon Adams, of DeLand; seven siblings, Leonard, Julie (David), Wanda, Sonya, Mary, Sam, and Jon. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Hilton, and Horace.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Stitts, officiating. Burial will be at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Friends will be received on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
