Raymond Cecil Maryes

Raymond C. Maryes, 73, Edgewater, Florida, passed away on Thursday, November 6th, 2025.

He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on March 7th, 1952. He spent the majority of his life living in New Smyrna Beach & Edgewater, where he built many loving friendships and connections.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lyndal (Gay) Maryes.

Raymond is survived by sisters, Marilyn (Steve) Brown of Royce City, Texas, Joy (Rick) Walker of DeLand, Florida and brother Billy Maryes of New Smyrna Bch, Fl, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved greatly.

During his lifetime, Ray was known for his strong work ethic. In addition to a long career as a plumber he worked on the railroad and fulfilled his life-long dream of being a Pipe Fitter for NASA at Kennedy Space Center. He also owned his own lawn service that he took pride in and loved his clients as family. In addition to these careers, Ray also worked at the New Smyrna Beach Speedway where he combined his love of racing and working. During his free time, he could be found watching a Nascar race, drag race, or on a boat trying to outfish his brother-in-law. Ray loved spending time with his family.

Memorials may be made in his name to Halifax Health Hospice or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
