Reverend Coy Rigney Obituary

The Reverend Coy Rigney, age 96, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at CountrySide Lakes, Port Orange, Florida.  Born in Liberty, Kentucky to George and Dessie Long Rigney, Reverend Coy came to Florida  in 2018 from Kentucky.

A minister at First Church of God, he was devoted to his faith. Reverend Coy enjoyed fixing clocks, and collecting antiques, especially dishes. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his son, David (Carolyn) Rigney, of Port Orange, Florida; daughter, Pam (Mike) Nichols, of Bowen, Illinois; 6 grandchildren, Keshia (Jermey) Heaton, Crystal (Trevor) Parrish, Keela Nichols, (Jake Harvey), Zachary (Katie) Rigney, Ty (Whitney) Rigney and Savannah (Tyler) Simmons; 11 great-grandchildren, Nolan Fish, Fred, Bexley, Braxton, Madison Rigney; Jaise, Jerik Heaton, Olyyea, Coy Mann; Maxine and Warren Harvey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Pauline; 6 brothers, and one sister.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida. Friends will be received on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
