Rex A. Malmberg, age 74, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange. Born in Jamestown, New York to Rex Albert Malmberg Sr. and Mary June Simmonds, Rex came to this area in 1956 from Jamestown, New York.
A technical consultant in the education industry, Rex attended Cornell University, volunteered his time with the Turtle Trackers of New Smyrna Beach, Lions Club, and helped prepare taxes with AARP. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, whittling and photography. Rex was very good with his hand too. He was a devoted husband of 25 years, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Seth Malmberg, of Ithaca, New York; Jed (Stacy Goetting) Malmberg, of Temecula, California; and Craig (Sandy) Timms, of Murfreeesboro, Tennessee; daughters, Sarah (Dustin) Walters, of Edgewater and Jessica Wall, of Ithaca, New York; grandchildren, Jacob, Harmony, Deagan, Luca, Jonah, Maddie, Billy and Mekayla; great grandchildren, Chloe and Matthew; sisters, Beverly (Rick Heffernon) Malmberg and Nancy (John Peel) Malmberg. Rex was preceded in death by his grandson, Max Malmberg.
