Robert Allan Kayat

Robert Allan Kayat, age 87, died Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Elias Allan and Violet Lovegrove Kayat, Robert came to the area in 1992 from Milford, Connecticut.

He was a  mechanical engineer in the packaging industry and founded Kayat Engineering Corp. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and loved making something out of nothing and loved his farm. Robert most of all loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Wannah; son, Robert E. (Melissa) Kayat, of Edgewater; step daughters, Ann (Jesse) O’Neil and Angie (Dave Sebastian) Schweitzer; grandchildren, Elias (Kathryn) Kayat, Robert J. (Adrianna) Kayat, Ashley Kayat, Danielle Kayat, Matthew (Hannah), Madison, Marissa, Maddox, Maclain Calisi, Ocean O’Neil, EJ River, Laylay River, ZayZay Nelson, Gabby Sebastain, Jessica (Aaron) Fromm and James (Kenzie) O’Brien; great grandchildren, Brantley, Ryleigh, Evelyn, Hazel Ann Kayat, Harper Fromm,  Sage and Hazel Ann Calisi; brother in law, Roy Milford. Also survived by nephew Chris Kayat and niece Brenda McIntosh, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Allan M., Jeffery M., and Timothy E. Kayat; and sisters, Joan Milford and Susan Kayat.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, FL, with the Redemptorist Fathers officiating. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Friends will be received on Monday August 29, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.
