Bob Swadner, age 78, of Edgewater, Florida died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at
Halifax Health-Hospice, Edgewater. Born in Trotwood, Ohio, Robert has been
a snowbird for 18 years from Williamsville, New York. He was an engineer in the
automobile industry, with General Motors in Dayton, Ohio and Buffalo, New York
for 40 years.
Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach,
and a recent member of Newman’s Crewmen at the church. He loved fishing, golf,
and puzzles. Robert was a member of Delta Chi Rho at General Motors
Institute and was once honored as Dayton Ohio’s Engineer of the year. He
received his Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan and had numerous
patents on auto compressors. Bob enjoyed gardening and could fix anything. He was
a loving and humble man.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Melanie; 2 children, Robert Scott
(Shari) Swadner of Winchester, Virginia and Susan (Kerry) Williams of
Buffalo, New York; brother, Don Swadner of Cape Coral; sister, Norma Hansen
of Chattanooga, Tennessee; His brother Roy, preceded him in death; 3 granddaughters,
Jennifer Swadner, Talia and Elise Williams and “adopted son”, Jeff Wills.
Per his wishes, no services have been planned.
