Robert (Bob) Marvin Jontes Jr.

Robert (Bob) Marvin Jontes, Jr. was born April 8, 1948, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida to Robert Marvin Jontes, Sr. and Pauline (Klun) Jontes. Bob lived in Samsula, Florida all of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, duck hunting, saltwater fishing, gardening as well as cooking. He graduated from New Smyrna Beach High in 1966.

Bob joined the U.S. Navy in 1967 and served on the aircraft carriers USS John F. Kennedy and USS Forrestal. During this time, he was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea visiting ports in Spain and Greece along with others. He left the Navy in 1971 to return home and attend Daytona Beach
Community College, acquiring an A.S. degree in Electronics Technology. He worked in the electronics field for Stromberg Carlson/Siemens and Gamma High Voltage until his retirement in 2020.

Bob is predeceased by his parents and survived by his siblings Steve and Carol (Fred) Strack; his two children, Robert (Bob) Jontes III and Scott Jontes; grandchildren, Hannah, Robert, Joshua, Cole,  and Colin Jontes; nephew Frederick Strack II; cousins Roy (Judy) Galbreath, Marcy Galbreath, Stan (Gayle) Jensen, and Julie (David) Lauer. 

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel with calling hours at 10:00 a.m and graveside service at Sea Pines. A reception will follow at SNPJ Lodge 603, 421 N. Samsula Drive at 1:30.
