Robert (Bob) Leong

Robert (Bob)  Leong, age 83, of New Smyrna Beach, died Saturday, March 11, 2023 at AdventHealth, New Smyrna. Born in New York, New York to Hing Kwong and Chan Shee  Leong, Bob came to the area in 2014 from Westfield, New Jersey.

 

He was an electrical engineer for several years before switching to computer programming. Bob still found time to be active with the Boy Scouts of America from 1990 - 2014, Troop #72, Westfield, New Jersey. All three of his sons were Eagle Scouts. Bob enjoyed model airplanes and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be dearly missed.

 

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Helen; 3 sons, Alexander (Mairead) Leong, of Tacoma, Washington, James (Kimberly) Leong, of Hoboken, New Jersey, and Matthew (fiancé, Joyce Ho) Leong, of Ashville, North Carolina; 2 grandsons, Jack and Ethan Leong, of Hoboken, New Jersey; and sister, Anna Leong, of New York, New York. Also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, John and sister, Lucy Adelson.

 

Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
