Robert “Bobby” Cousins, age 77, of Edgewater, died Tuesday November 9, 2021 at his residence. Born in Nashville, Tennessee to Charles Henry and Vera Mae Troxel Cousins, Bobby came to the area in 1957 from Richmond, Virginia.
Bobby served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division during Vietnam; earning 2 purple hearts, along with several other medals and awards. A letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, he was a member of Coronado United Methodist Church, Edgewater Fire Rescue Association and a former member of New Smyrna Beach Yacht Club. Bobby previously served as a volunteer Lt. with the Edgewater Fire Department, enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy; son, Stephen (Lisa) Cousins, of Ormond Beach; daughter, Kimberly Barlow, of Edgewater; 2 grandsons, Brodie Sapp and Asher Cousins; both of Ormond Beach; 2 granddaughters, Brittney (Josh) Davis, of Heath, Ohio and Cleary Cousins, of Ormond Beach; great grandchildren, Abigail Cousins, Wyatt Davis and Hayden Davis. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy; granddaughter, Pamela; brother, Charles and sister, Jean.
Memorial Service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims. Following the Memorial Service, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Edgewater Fire Hall, 2616 Hibiscus Dr. Edgewater.
