Roberta Louise Mauro

Roberta Louise, age 76, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her residence. Born in Sommerville, New Jersey to Robert and Emma Grube Haines, Roberta came to the area in 1986 from her birthplace.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, she was a grocery clerk at Publix in New Smyrna Beach. Roberta was a member of Church of the Epiphany, Port Orange; and loved collecting cook books, playing games, and going to the casino. Roberta use to enjoy fishing in prior years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanenne (Joseph) Petri, of Buffalo, New York; step-daughter, Donna Davis, of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Daniel Petri and Samantha Petri, both of Buffalo, New York; and David Johnson and Christopher Johnson; brother, Dave (Lois) Haines, of Pennsylvania; sister, Patricia Pickeral, of New Jersey and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Mauro and by her brother Ronald Haines.  

There will be a memorial in New Jersey at a later time. In honor of her joyful spirit and love for the thrill of a good spin, the family kindly requests that you play a round of slots in her memory, and may your reels line up with the same luck and laughter she brought to our lives.
