Ronald Tucker Obituary

Ronald Reed Tucker, age 73, of Edgewater, died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange. Born in Endicott, New York to Robert Payson and Christine Carolyn Stier Tucker, Ronald came to the area in 1963 from New York.

A United States Air Force veteran, her served four years at Hahn Air Force base in Germany. He was in the Aerospace industry, working at the Kennedy Space Center for 32 years. He was responsible for managing flights for the space shuttle Atlantis and also managing the vehicle assembly building.

Ronald was the Past Master of Masonic Lodge #149; and an active member of the New Smyrna Yacht Club where he annually provided portraits for the club officers. Ronald was also the owner of Aubries Photography Service where he skillfully captured portraits and wedding memories, locally. A 1968 graduate of New Smyrna Beach High School, he was an avid surfer and often joked that he was the only surfer that lived in Oak Hill.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Betty Ann; step daughter, Michelle Myers, of New Smyrna Beach; step son, Scott Myers, of Edgewater; four grandchildren, Logan, Rebecca, KaeLynn, and Coyle; half brother, George Tucker, of Waterbury, Connecticut. Ronald is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Mark Spivey, officiating. Burial will immediately follow. Friends will be received on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
