Rose Marie Cornelius

Rose Marie Cornelius, age 91, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, August 22, 2024 at her residence. Born in Detroit, Michigan to John Peter and Johanna Josephine Schuller Motto, Rose came to the area in 1989 from Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

A retired bookkeeper, she was a member of St. Thecla Church, Mt. Clemens, Michigan and attended Bethel Baptist Church, New Smyrna Beach. Rose enjoyed crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles, and like to go antiquing. She was a collector of art deco swans and Depression glass. Rose was a great cook and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her three daughters, Robin (Neil) DeRue, of New Smyrna Beach; Jana (Clifford) Kujawa, of New Smyrna Beach; and Ronna (Michael) McNamara, of Pittsford, Michigan; son, Lloyd (Sandra) Cornelius, of Ormond Beach; grandchildren, Marilyn (Kujawa) Archer, Clifford Kujawa Jr., Roseanna (Andrew) Terrell, Melissa (Dustin) Westgate, Wesley (Shannon) Cornelius, Taylor Cornelius, Dylan (Amber) Cornelius, Alyssa (Taj) Copeland; great grandchildren, Raina, Zeke, Nolan, Lukas, Lillee, Addee, Maximus, Sean, Hunter, Ian, and Avery; sister, Betty (Phil) Finazzo; brother, John Motto. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, son Ronald Jr. and granddaughter, Kathryn. Additionally, three sisters now deceased, Mary, Helen, and Deanna.

Interment will be in Bradford, Pennsylvania at a later date.
