Obituary

Rose Marie Sturges, age 93, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Fairgreen Assisted Living Facility, New Smyrna Beach.
 
Born in New Smyrna Beach to Charles and Grace Mallard, Rose was a lifelong resident, and was raised in New Smyrna Beach. Rose served in the United States Air Force; she was a Librarian; active member of First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach; active member of The Order of the Eastern Star and Woman’s Club of New Smyrna Beach. She loved her family and was an avid bowler.
 
Survivors include three sons, David (Anita) Haskill of Edgewater, Tom Sturges of Edgewater, and Michael Sturges of South Carolina; two granddaughters, Heather (John) Justen and Heidi Haskill; two grandsons, Tommy Alphonso and David Jones; 2 great grandchildren, Clayton Justen and Raelynn Justen. Rose was proceeded in death by her husband Harry of 47
years; two daughters, Diane (Neil) Keyser and Jayne (Mike) Parrish; parents; and two
brothers. 
 
A small graveside service will be held on January 14, 2023 at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach or the Alzheimer’s Association.
