Ruby Lewis Parker, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. Born January 30, 1935 in Cumberland, Kentucky to James and Jannie Clark Lewis, Ruby came to the area in 2008 from Knoxville, Tennessee.
Ruby was a former Medical Director at the Medical College of Georgia. She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted wife, mother, nana, nanny and great grandmother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walks on the beach.
Survivors include her son, Tony (Leslie) Parker of Ponce Inlet; three daughters, Lisa Jane Parker of Royston, Georgia; Becky Parker of Edgewater; Pam Parker of Port Orange; three grandsons, Brandon (Kristin) Parker of Alpharetta, Georgia; Anthony Parker of Port Orange; Tyler Parker of Edgewater; two great grandsons, Gabriel Parker and Kade Parker; sister, Evalee Brooks of Charleston, South Carolina. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jesse James Parker.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Settle Wilder Funeral Home, 406 South Orange St., New Smyrna Beach. A Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Settle Wilder Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater.
