Ruth G. Cardillo

Ruth G. Cardillo, age 87, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Stuart F.  Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast. Born in Manhattan, New York to Louis and Virginia Del Genio Afeftra, Ruth came to the area in 1989 from Cliffton, New Jersey.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Italian American Club, in Palm Coast; and loved to read James Patterson novels, and watch Law & Order on television. Ruth was a typical Italian lady that loved caring for others, a very simple woman. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Al) Ellis, of Palm Coast; son, Richard Tybus, of Palm Coast; 2 granddaughters, Mellissa Ellis (fiancé, Patrick Vainio), of Ormond Beach and Maggie Modestil, of Ormond Beach; 2 grandsons, AJ (Danielle) Ellis, of New Smyrna Beach, and Tommy Cardillo, of Rhode Island; 6 great grandchildren, Lucas Modestil, Emily Deacon, Jessica Ellis, Brenden Ellis, Chase Deacon, and Jaxon Ellis; 2 sisters, Julie (Rob) Lorenzini and Marie Byrnes. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rocco; 3 sons, Rocco, Michael, and Andrew; and sister, Irene Amato.
