Sandra Hawkins Obituary

Sandra Lyle Harvey Hawkins born 8/8/43 in Gainesville, Fl and resided most of her life in New Smyrna Beach died peacefully on 1/24/2025 with her children and “favorite” niece by her side. 

Sandra “Sissy” as she was affectionately known by her family was preceded in death by her parents Chips and Carlyle Harvey of New Smyrna Beach as well as her husband Elbert Lee Hawkins and sister Kathy Aylwin. Sandra grew up in New Smyrna Beach and graduated in 1961 then married her high school sweetheart. For many years Sandra lived in Orlando, Atlanta, Casselberry, Sanford, Burnsville MN, Maitland and finally back to New Smyrna Beach where she and Elbert spent their golden years after retirement.

In her younger days Sandra enjoyed playing tennis, bridge, playing the piano, camping with her family and watching her Gators play. After moving back to New Smyrna Beach Sandra became active at the Cor-Meth boutique, started a walking group “The Beachettes” and enjoyed many days with family and friends at the beach. Family and friends were very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with both. 

Sandra Lyle is survived by her children Debbie(Greg) Call of Albia, IA and daughter Cynthia Lyle Hawkins of Glen St. Mary, Fl, her sister Bobbie(Wilbur) Moore of Windermere, sister in law Evelyn Hudspeth of Oviedo, brother in law Dale (sharon) Maloney, Pace, Fl. Nieces Shannon Ross, Katie Carlyle (Julie Fink) Alywin, Abby~Carlyle Ross, Michele Anderson, and Sharon Snell. Nephews Jay (Lindsey) Aylwin , Todd Aylwin and Will Ross as well as many life long friends. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends and family make a donation to the Anglers Club Scholarship Fund 500 Canal Street New Smyrna Beach, Fl 32168 or Labrador Rescue of Florida at 1950 NE 6th street # 10365 pompano beach, Fl 33060. 

Funeral service will be held 2/2 at 12:00 pm at Settle Wilder Funeral Home New Smyrna Beach with celebration of life to follow at Anglers Yacht  Club #2 North Causeway.
