Ellen “Susie” Lamb, age 79, of Edgewater, died at her residence on January 17, 2020. Born in Bartow to Paul and Naomi Alderman Slaughter; Ellen was a lifelong resident of this area.
A former automotive factory worker; Susie could cook for an army and was the world’s greatest cook. She enjoyed fishing and camping; most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Susie never met a stranger; only a friend she hasn’t met yet.
Survivors include 3 sons, George Jeffers, and his wife, Donna, of Edgewater, Roy Jeffers, and his wife, Leorra, of New Smyrna Beach, and Larry Jeffers, of Edgewater; 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Sandra Hutchinson, of Edgewater; and a brother, William Dudney, of Edgewater. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard, and 3 sisters, Norma, Pauline and Marie.
Memorial service will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, at Settle-Wilder’s chapel, with Pastor Clifford Stever, officiating. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. until the service time on Wednesday.
