Suzanne M. Collins, age 92, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Town and Country assisted living in New Smyrna Beach.
Suzanne was born March 7, 1933, in Buffalo, NY. She grew up in Buffalo and worked as a nurse. She married James R. Collins on August 21, 1954. She and Jim moved to Camp Lejeune, NC, in 1956, and returned to Olean, NY in 1958. They then moved to Cleveland in 1962 and also lived in Lexington, KY from 1964-68.
Suzanne and Jim moved back home to the Buffalo area in 1968 and settled in Williamsville, NY, where they raised their two sons and she supported Jim’s medical practice. They built their home in Sugar Mill in 1992 and began residing permanently in New Smyrna Beach in 2004. They attended St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church in New Smyrna Beach.
Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed golf, was a wonderful cook, and remained a loyal supporter of the Buffalo Bills throughout her life. Suzanne was generous, kind-hearted and loved to laugh.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. James Collins, who she was married to for 69 years, and her parents, Raymond and Irene Mosier.
Suzanne is survived by her children, Mark Collins of New Smyrna Beach, James (Christine) Collins of Hinsdale, IL; two grandchildren, Nicholas Collins of West Chicago, IL, and Barbara Collins of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Barbara (George) Mayer of Williamsville, NY; and nieces and nephews.
