Thelma Shawen Obituary
Thelma G. Shawen, age 100, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Born in Long Island, Virginia to Robert and Berger Roby; Thelma moved to this area in 1999 from Bethesda, Maryland.
Thelma enjoyed family gatherings, horse and dog racing, along with being a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Charles “Mike” Shawen, Jr., and his wife, Patricia, of New Smyrna Beach; a daughter, Karen Pierson, and her husband, Mark, of Clarksburg, Maryland; a sister, Donie Henline, of Gilbert, Arizona; 3 grandchildren, David Shawen, of Frederick, Maryland, Erin Reynolds, and her husband, Matt, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Tommy Hughes, and his wife, Teresa, of Stevensville, Maryland; 4 great grandchildren, Charles, Aidan, Taylor, and Tenley. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, in 2010.
The family is having a private funeral service.
