Trudy Crusco Obituary

Trudy Susan Crusco, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at AdventHealth Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was born on January 23, 1938, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Romeo and Rita Ferro, and was raised in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. On October 16, 1960, Trudy married the love of her life, George F. Crusco. In 1965, they moved with their two daughters to Rockaway, New Jersey. In 1976, the family relocated to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and a few years later settled in Edgewater, Florida. Trudy faithfully served as pastor at Mount Moriah Church, a historic church in Port Orange, Florida. She was an avid reader of the Bible and a devoted believer in Jesus Christ. In her early years, Trudy worked as a bank teller in New Jersey. While raising her daughters, she and her husband owned Superior Erosion Control, later known as Superior Docks and Seawalls during the 1980s. She also served as a library assistant at Coronado Beach Elementary School and later worked as a paraprofessional in a kindergarten classroom and with ESE students at Read-Pattillo Elementary School. Above all, Trudy cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, which she considered her greatest joy. She is survived by her daughters, Doris Crusco Swift (Brian) of Edgewater, Florida, and Karen Crusco Midland of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; granddaughters Lisa Cox (David) and Lauren Midland; grandsons Michael Swift (Randi) and Matthew Midland; great-granddaughters Trinity Cox and Kennedy Cox; great-grandsons Jaden Swift, Braden Dumsha, Seth Cox, Hunter Swift, and Jasper Midland; her sister, Dorisanne Story (Jim); her brother, John A. Ferro (Ann); nieces Amanda Story and Joy Ferro; nephews Joseph Ferro, Jr. (Kate), and John Ferro (Jill); great-niece Kylie Ferro; great-nephews Preston and Austin Ferro. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, George F. Crusco, her granddaughter, Victoria Christen Midland, her parents, her older brother, Joseph Ferro, and her sister-in-law, Janet Ferro. A celebration of Trudy’s life will be held on February 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. The service will be officiated by her brother, the Reverend John A. Ferro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse P.O.
