Veronica Teresa Gardner, age 91 years, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater. Born in Newark, New Jersey to Joseph and Mary Taleheimer Fitzsimmons, Veronica came to the area in 1980 from Orlando.
A manager in the hospitality industry, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was very involved in Southeast Volusia Community projects. She loved dancing, entertaining, cooking, decorating, and organized cruise trips for over 15 years which always would result in two buses full of friends in the community to the ports. Veronica enjoyed surf fishing, shrimping, and crabbing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karlann Bock (her fiancé, Jim Towers), of Port Orange; and MaryAnn Pistilli, of New Smyrna Beach; two sons, Rodney (Melanie) Seneca, and Robert Seneca, both of New Smyrna Beach; three grandsons, Raymond, Chris, and Bobby; two granddaughters, Elizabeth, and Sherry Ann; and nine great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Veronica was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Edward; four brothers, and three sisters.
She was a loving, caring true friend to many.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 27th, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Redemptorist Fathers, officiating.
