Warren Robert Hashagen Sr., 94, passed away at home after a short illness on Friday, August 5th 2022, in the presence of his loving wife of 26 years, Ann McMillian Hashagen, and daughter-in-law Carla Hashagen.
Warren was born in Newark, New Jersey on June 28, 1928 to George Hashagen and Mary Rose Heunemann. Warren served in the United States Army Airborne Division. He was employed by American Air Filter in New Jersey for most of his professional career as an Industrial Engineer, transferring with the company to Louisville, Kentucky, where his family lived for many years. In 1994, following the death of his first wife, Carol, he moved to New Smyrna Beach. He loved living in Florida and it was there that he met his second wife, Ann, who he adored.
He leaves behind his wife Ann, sons Jeffrey (the late Deborah Lesko), and Scott (Susan Schmidt), daughter Dale (Randall Kearney), stepdaughter Victoria Englehart (Carey Thompson), and stepson Gary Rhett Brindle. He is also survived by many grandchildren who loved him dearly: Alexandra, Caroline, and Theodosia Hashagen; Jennifer and Jeffrey Hashagen Jr. (Dana Landis); Amanda (Matthew Moore) and Matthew Kearney (Samantha Davis); Leah and Jenna Hashagen; and step-grandsons Alexander and Christian Englehart. He is further survived by four great-grandchildren: Maxon and Avery Hashagen, and Koa and Jovie Moore. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife of 43 years, Carol Friewald, son Warren (Carla Martin), sister Viola (Albert Friewald), and brother George (Dorothy Jones).
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Settle-Wilder. There will be a private service at the Edgewater-New Smyrna Beach Cemetery at a later date. Contributions may be made to Halifax Health Hospice, Fund Development, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
