Wayne F. “Bubba” Gilkey, age 55, of Port Orange, died Saturday, September 3, 2022 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Wayne L. and Patricia Moore Gilkey, Bubba moved to this area in 1976 from North Olmsted, Ohio.
A truck driver, Wayne was a member of CrossRoads Church, Daytona Beach. He loved baseball, fishing, poker and he coached little league baseball for many years. He was a devoted husband and father that will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Gilkey, of Daytona Beach; 2 sons, Austin and Jake Gilkey, of Georgia; a sister, Patricia “Sissi” (William) Brannon, of Samsula; and his best friend, Steven Jessmer, of Ormond Beach. Bubba was preceded in death by his father, Wayne L. Gilkey.
Memorial service will be1:00 p.m. Saturday September 10, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, 10 First Baptist Parkway, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, with the Reverend Rob Hall officiating.
