William V. Nocito, Jr., 78, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully and no longer breathless on May 2, 2026.
Born on September 11, 1947, in Mineola, New York, William lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep love, and an unwavering ability to make others feel seen and valued. He was a man who listened-truly listened-and in doing so, made everyone around him feel important.
William often said, "Don't mourn, celebrate," a reflection of both his spirit and his faith. He believed that this life was only part of the journey, and found comfort in knowing he would be reunited with his beloved wife, Juliette, who passed 31 years ago, along with many cherished loved ones who went before him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William V. and Irene (Roxbury) Nocito, Sr., sister, Barbara Peluso, and his love of his life, wife, Juliette.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Jennifer Nocito of Oak Hill, Florida, and Alison Nocito of New Smyrna Beach, Florida who were his reason for living; and his treasured granddaughters, Ava, Ella, and Madz-his "group of girls," who brought him immense pride and joy. Their love for him was deep, and his love for them was boundless.
William served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he pursued a career as a quality control engineering and ending his career as a Finance Manager in 1995 when he retired. Beyond his professional life, he will be remembered most for his kindness, his steady presence, and the way he made people feel understood.
His legacy is not only in the life he lived, but in the countless lives he touched-with a listening ear, a gentle word, and a loving heart.
In honoring his wishes, we celebrate his life, his love, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Cremation will take place with private placement at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William's memory to a charity of your choice, in the spirit of kindness and compassion he lived by.
