Winfrey "Win" Price Bunton III

"Win" as most knew him, was raised in Louisville, Kentucky and attended Atherton High School graduating in 1966. After high school, he went to Stetson University in Deland, Florida, where he met his wife, Kay, and graduated in 1971. He attended Pennsylvania State University and earned his horticultural certificate in 1973. After leaving Penn State, he moved back to Louisville to run the family business, Bunton’s Seed, and raise a family. He enjoyed playing racquetball at the downtown YMCA, running the Triple Crown races, and coaching his sons’ baseball teams. He was also a member of Big Spring Country Club, where he met life-long friends with whom he played bridge and attended Broadway musicals among other activities. In retirement, he cherished raising his great Pyrenees dogs, vacations in New Smyrna Beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his spouse of 50 years, Kay King Bunton of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; sister Elizabeth “Cissy” Hamilton of Lexington, KY; children, Alex Bunton of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and John Bunton of Louisville, KY; grandchild, James Edward Bunton of Louisville, KY.
