Yvonne D. Duffe, D.O., age 62, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at AdventHealth in New Smyrna. Born in Jacksonville, Florida to Paul E. and Faye R. Duffe, Dr. Duffe came from the Orlando area to New Smyrna in 2017.
Dr. Duffe was a respected and beloved family physician and owner of Yvonne D. Duffe, D.O. P.A. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida Southern College in 1981 and her medical degree from Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, now Nova Southeastern University, in 1985. She received her Masters in Medical Education during her Family Medicine Residency and shared her knowledge with medical students through teaching at her alma mater as well as with patients through her Bountiful Health wellness program, passionately educating about holistic and medical approaches to healing.
In her spare time, Dr. Duffe loved dancing, from ballroom to belly, which reflected her loving and free-spirit. She was an avid reader as well, from fact to fiction but especially fantasy. Dr. Duffe was also involved in her church and business organizations such as the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Sofia Fernandez, of Tampa; 2 brothers, Darryl Duffe, of New Smyrna Beach and Paul Duffe, of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents.
