Arthur W. Schaefer

Arthur W. Schaefer, age 57, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away peacefully at home with family and friends, in the arms of his sister, Dawn, on Sunday, November 13, 2016.

Arthur was born in New York. For years, he fought a long, hard journey with multiple sclerosis. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends; joking, laughing, and telling stories from his past. He enjoyed Scrabble, word search puzzles, and watching Jeopardy, which he knew every single answer to every question! He adored his son and grandson and all of his nieces and nephews. He passed humbly, joking and winking with a smile on his face. May he rest in peace now. Fly away with the angels, Arthur. We all love you.

Survivors include his son, Arthur IV (Ally) Schaefer; sister, Dawn (Eric) Barnhouse; grandson and “soon to be” grandson, Quinton Schaefer and Zachary Schaefer; sisters, Gina and Kimberly; brother, Andrew (Kelly); father, Arthur (Karen) Schaefer; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Joanne Stalder.

A celebration of Arthur’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
