Donny Goodson was one of the finest men I ever served under, a talented and dedicated Police Officer and a superior supervisor. End of watch Boss. Semper Fi Marine.

The world was a much better place with this kind, gentle man, a quiet hero, in it. May he Rest In Peace and all his many loved ones find peace that passeth understanding. Praying the warmest of memories will replace the emptiness you surely must feel at this moment. What a heart breaking loss. I am so sorry.

Although I only knew Donnie for a few years, I could tell right from when I first met him that he was a special man and person. Donnie gave a lot of dedicated and loyal service to FOP Lodge 40 having served in various positions during his many years of membership. He was a kind and generous individual. He loved law enforcement and his community as proven by all his years of service to New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater. I respected his knowledge and the way he carried himself. He was a proud Marine veteran. I will miss him. My prayers and condolences are with Carole and the family. RIP Captain Donnie.
