Florence Futch

Florence Futch, age 79, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater Care Center.

Born in DeLand, Mrs. Futch grew up in Oak Hill and worked as a residential care giver. She was a big fan of NASCAR and loved Dale Earnhardt. Florence was a very kind and giving person and her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed spending her time with all of her grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored.

Survivors include six children; Julie (Richard) Eilers, of Valdosta, GA, Kathy (Ronald) Wheeler, of Edgewater, Frank Robinson, of Edgewater, Leonard Robinson, of Port Orange, Niles (Betsy) Futch, of Port Orange, and James Smart, of NC; thirteen grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Helen McLendon, Pete Raines, and Pat Fowler.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with the Reverend Brian Jones officiating. Interment will take place following the service. Calling hours are from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial donations in Mrs. Futch’s name to Halifax Health Hospice, Attn: Edgewater Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
