Quantavius J. Blount

Quantavius J. Blount, age 26, of New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday, September 21, 2016 at Halifax Health Hospice, Southeast Volusia Care Center, Edgewater.

Quantavius was born in St. Augustine, though was a lifelong resident of New Smyrna Beach. He worked as a line cook in the restaurant business and enjoyed fishing and music.

Survivors include his son, Jaquez Ivy of Edgewater, two daughters, Quantaysha and Zakariyah Blount, both of Edgewater; mother, Latasha Blount of New Smyrna Beach; father, David (Jackie) Spivey of New Smyrna Beach; five brothers, Antwaune Blount of New Smyrna Beach, Calvin Blount of New Smyrna Beach, David Spivey, Jr. of St. Augustine, Darius Spivey of Atlanta, GA, and Keevin Jelks of New Smyrna Beach; sister, Ashley Jelks of DeLand; maternal grandfather, Arlis Blount of St. Augustine; maternal grandmother, Denise Ofide of New Smyrna Beach; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Elfe of St. Augustine; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Helping Hand Ministry of Hope, with the Reverend Robert A. Walker officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, at the church.
