Rhea Nash

Rhea Nash, age 73, of New Smyrna Beach, died at Carlton Shores Health and Rehabilitation Center, Daytona Beach, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, surrounded by her three children. 

Born in Takoma Park, Maryland, Rhea moved to Florida in 1973 from Silver Spring, Maryland.
She was a member of Servants’ Quarters Fellowship, New Smyrna Beach. Rhea enjoyed sewing, reading and especially her daily Bible devotions.  Rhea loved to walk and enjoyed the outdoors. Rhea was known to sing “Don’t you know I love you” to so many, as her term of endearment. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Survivors include two daughters, Gail (John) Riera and Patti (Dan) Kennedy both of New Smyrna Beach; son, Frank (fiancé Cindy Bushman) DeMent of Edgewater; 4 grandsons, Matthew DeMent of Jacksonville, Ryan Kennedy of New Smyrna Beach, Todd Riera and Scott Riera, both of New Smyrna Beach; 2 granddaughters, Megan (Matt) Adkins and Paige Kennedy both of New Smyrna Beach; sister, Janet Rodgers of Georgia; brother, James Mark (Joyce) Hannah of Crystal River, Florida.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Debbie DeMent of Edgewater. Rhea was preceded in death by her parents;  husband of 24 years, Stuart; brother, Bruce Jr. and 2 sisters, June and Carol.

Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with the Dr. David Starkey, of the Servants’ Quarters Fellowship of New Smyrna Beach officiating.  Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
